Bantam Team Ontario opens National Tournament with 2 wins!

Team Ontario VS Nova Scotia

Team Nova Scotia played a difficult first game against Team Ontario. The game was a way for both teams to get rid of the first day jitters. After the first period the score was 3-0 for Team Ontario.  Team O opened up the flood gates in the 2nd period scoring 11 unanswered goals.  Nova Scotia was able to curb the shut-out by scoring with 1:30 seconds left in the third period.  Team Ontario looked strong and ready to play.

Team Ontario VS Team Iroquois

This game was a barn-burner. Squeezed into Pad 3 at the Legends Center the fans were 5 deep at the glass, the temperature a sweaty 30 degrees, and the tension could be cut with a knife.
Team Ontario opened the scoring at 11:30 of the first period, only to have Team Iroquois reply with 1 minute and 30 seconds later. Team O scored at 7:27, then with :13 seconds left on the clock, scored a huge 3rd goal.  The second period was a tie with both teams scoring one a piece.  The score: 4-2 for Team Ontario at the end of two. Team Iroquois scored early in the third period to come within a goal, and tied it up with 1:46 left in the period.
The game went into a 5 minute overtime period, without the tie being broken.  The 10 minute Sudden-Victory overtime period began with both teams looking tired, but the game picked up speed and with 4:11 left in the  5th period Team Ontario's captain Seth Griffith scored the winning goal on a pass from Justin Rasmussen.
